Technology keeps increasing what is possible. AI keeps increasing how much intelligence is available. Neither decides what any of it is for.
At the same time, the paths people used to inherit — a career, a place, a sequence of life stages — hold their shape far less reliably than they did.
People, families and organisations still have to choose direction. That is the problem we decided to work on.

Carlo founded Your North Star and leads its vision, research and product strategy, alongside the founder-led work with individuals, founders and leadership teams.
For more than two decades he worked with people, teams and organisations across Europe and the United States as they grew, changed direction or came apart. The recurring pattern was rarely a lack of tools. It was a harder question: how do I know what matters when everything is changing?
His own life kept asking it too — an international life, repeated transitions, family, and a skiing accident that made the question unavoidable. Human Navigation grew out of lived questions, then was tested and refined into a discipline.
He believes AI will not make human judgement less important. It will make it more essential.
